"The wound is the place where the Light enters you."

- Rumi

"I know it can be difficult to take the first step towards asking for and receiving help.

Sometimes it's easier to go with what you know, even if that's uncomfortable or not working for you.

But my hope is that I can be there to support you through a process of exploration, to challenge you about your blind spots, and increase your capacity for joy."

Perinatal mental health

I have a specialty in reproductive mental health. I work with individuals and couples who are navigating the developmental stage of becoming parents. This can include issues such as infertility, pregnancy loss, birth trauma, maternal identity development, or postpartum depression and anxiety.

My practice at a glace

I work with individuals who seek help for depression, anxiety, trauma, family of origin conflicts, and relationship problems. I see couples who struggle with communication and conflict, especially in the transition from couplehood to parenthood.

My Philosophy

Kintsugi is a Japanese art form of repairing broken pottery by mending the cracks with lacquer dusted with gold, silver, or platinum. The philosophy behind kintsugi is to highlight the breaks as part of of the object’s beauty and history rather than try to cover it up. I think of therapy as a kind of kintsugi art form.

We will examine together the places where you feel broken and work together to help you heal by transforming the broken bits into a story of resilience, strength, and uniqueness.

My goal is to help you discover what you’re carrying from your past that no longer serves you, develop a new narrative of strength and resilience instead of blaming or feeling victimized, and enable you to soak in the moments of joy to counterbalance the human tendency to focus on the negative.

What makes therapy work? Research shows that it isn’t the therapist’s theoretical orientation or the type of therapy they practice. The essential element for success is the relationship between therapist and client. I tell people that finding a therapist is like the Goldilocks story – some are too warm, others too cold, etc. But you can find the “just right” (not perfect – no such thing!) fit with someone with whom you feel comfortable.

"There is a crack in everything. That's how the light gets in."

- Leonard Cohen
